The recent Cruise Baltic Steering Group Meeting, held at Scandic St. Jorgen Hotel, was attended by over 50 delegates. Besides the usual representatives from its 23 partners, there were industry guests and speakers from CLIA and cruise lines, Alan Lam reports.
Speakers included: Robert Ashdown, CLIA Europe; Anders Larsen, Maersk Broker Agency; Peter Deer and Clare Ward, Fred.Olsen Cruise Lines; Michael Pawlus, Silversea; Kay-Uwe Maross, AIDA Cruises; Mario Parodi, Prestige Cruise Holdings; and Irek Stankiewicz, Baltic Gateway.
Cruise Baltic used the opportunity to announce that Scandic Hotels would continue as a strategic partner of the association, with a joint agreement covering a further two-year period, 2014-2015.
Bo Larsen, Cruise Baltic Director, welcomed the news and confirmed the commitment that during the next two years, all Cruise Baltic meetings and conferences would take place at a Scandic Hotel in the region.
“We are delighted to extend our strategic partnership with Cruise Baltic,” said Mathias Hultgren, Vice President Sales, Scandic Hotels. “… As well as in our traditional homeports such as Copenhagen and Stockholm, we see the cruise segment as a long-term investment in all of our region… From Helsingborg to Helsinki, and all ports in between, we look forward to a continued, successful journey with Cruise Baltic and the network partners as a whole.“
Bo Larsen also introduced the new Cruise Baltic Chairman, Lars Bernhard Jorgensen, who concurrently held the position of CEO Wonderful Copenhagen.
