Scanship Holding ASA, the Norwegian engineering group, says it has through its subsidiary Scanship AS, been awarded an AWP contract by the Italian shipbuilder Fincantieri for installation on a P&O Australia newbuilding, a part of the Carnival Corporation & PLC fleet.
The Scanship system is designed to meet the new IMO MARPOL Standard MEPC 227(64) with chapter 4.2, known as the HELCOM standard with nutrient removal, the company said in a statement.
The P&O Australia newbuilding will be specifically designed and developed for the brand and the guests she will serve, while Scanship is currently completing delivery of AWP systems to other cruise ships for Fincantieri. The main delivery of equipment will take place during 2017.
