St Peter Line, which operates two cruise ferries in the Baltic, has lost a dispute over border checks of Russian passengers on board its Princess Anastasia.
The ship operates a service from St Petersburg in Russia to Helsinki, Stockholm and Tallinn. The company has argued that Russian passengers should go through European Union’s border check only in the first port of call, Helsinki.
However, Finnish border guard has argued that Russian passengers should have multiple entry visa if they intend to go ashore in more than one port rather than a single entry visa. The European Commission has solved the dispute by deciding against the company.
St Peter Line is a Cypriot company with head office in St Petersburg in Russia. Its ships fly the Maltese flag.
