Fred. Olsen Cruise Line, the UK based destinational operator of four ships, has staged a huge improvement in its second quarter and first half results and returned to profit in both periods.
The company made a net profit of NOK23 million in the second quarter of 2015 compared to a loss of NOK56 million in the same period last year. Revenues rose to NOK502 million from NOK377 million, parent company Ganger Rolf said in a statement.
In the first half of the current year, the company’s net profit amounted to NOK18 million compared to a loss of NOK102 million a year earlier. Revenues increased to NOK1.01 billion from NOK795 million.
“The number of passenger days totaled 275 458 (274 605) for the quarter. Net ticket income per diem was 26% higher compared to the corresponding quarter last year. The average spot price of fuel oil in the quarter was 42% lower than in second quarter 2014,” Ganger Rolf said.
