Cunard Line will introduce The Verandah on board its Queen Mary 2 next year, when its flagship will undergo a major refit that the Carnival Coro & plc group member calls remastering the vessel.

The restaurant will replace Todd English, an alternative dining venue that was introduced to the Cunard fleet with Queen Mary 2 in 2004 and which has already been replaced by The Verandah on both Queen Victoria and Queen Elizabeth.

"The Verandah will be a celebration of fine, contemporary French cuisine with seasonal influences, served within light and elegant dining rooms. The menus will evoke the special personality and flavour of great French regional cooking," the company said in a statement.

"The art is inspired by the playful and whimsical murals that appeared on the first two Queens and the vintage menus will tell a story of the dining experience on board the original Verandah Grills," Cunard said. The venue was first introduced  as Verandah Grill on the first Queen Mary that sailed for the company from 1936 to 1967
