P&O Cruises, the UK focused contemporary market unit in Carnival Corporation & plc group, said that on cruises departing from May 2019, the daily on board discretionary Service Charge will be removed. This will apply across the P&O Cruises fleet.

P&O Cruises senior vice president Paul Ludlow said in a statement: “We take huge pride in giving guests a holiday experience that’s truly memorable and special.  By removing the daily discretionary Service Charge, P&O Cruises will make enjoying a cruise holiday an effortless experience, knowing that great service comes as standard.”

The company currently adds a charge of £7.00 per night to the on board expenses account of each passenger aged 12 and over they spend on board. This can be removed on request on board.

P&O Cruises currently operates seven ships. The 1995 built Oriana of 69,840 gross tons will leave the fleet next year before the entry into service of Iona, the first of two 184,000 gross ton newbuildings.
